** How old people will save the world! **

Hi Emma,

Interestingly, the key message in Prof Robert Kegan's RSA lecture last night was that a form of thinking he calls 'the Self-transforming mind' is the only one that can cope with the 'wicked' problems that plague our world.

And this Self-transforming mind only begins to become common around mid-life.

Hence his conclusion that the accelerating bulge of old(er) people can provide the capacities we urgently need to deal with 'wicked' issues - to save the world!

I'd not heard Prof Kegan make this point before.

I just remembered that I made a similar comment when we were talking about your old people research last year:

"I think we should really value those oldies who grow into wise and dialectical post-formal thinkers - even if most never do, and plenty of us plateau long, long before that. (A few people's 'time horizons' are still growing - out to 40, 50... 100+ years - when they die. Such people are uncommon - but it would be great to corral a few of them, somehow)."

"That way of thinking is the only thinking that can deal with 'wicked' issues. They've got it, we need it."

I thought a 'Crone of the year' award might be good so we can honour some of these wise folks, and an Elders' wisdom council... ;-)

"Maybe there could be a 'Crone of the Year' prize - for a
wise Elder?"

Matthew

This reminds me of a Steve Jobs quotation: "That's been one of my mantras -- focus & simplicity. Simple can be harder than complex: You have to work hard to get your thinking clean and make it simple. But it's worth it in the end because once you get there, you can move mountains." When seeking to understand a complex problem or think about solutions, I often remind myself that I need to work for the "clean, simple" thought.

I am Mariam used every single spell worker on the internet, spent untold amounts of money and discovered they are all fakes...i was the fool though; doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. In the end, I decided that I wanted a tarot reading to know what my future held for me; I contacted a woman who lives locally to me and she told me about a man named (Priests Irumole); he does not advertise on the internet, has another job for income, has no set prices, makes no false promises and refuses to help anyone that cannot be helped and even helps
for free sometimes, he will give you proof before taking money. He is a wonderful man and he was the only person who actually gave me real results. I really hope he doesn't mind me advertising his contact on the internet but I'm sure any help/ extra work will benefit him.contact him as spirituallighthealing101@live.com He travel sometimes.i cant give out his number cos he told me he don’t want to be disturbed by many people across the world..he said his email is okay and he’ will replied to any emails asap, love marriage, finance, job promotion ,lottery Voodoo, poker voodoo, golf Voodoo,Law & Court case Spells, money voodoo, weigh loss voodoo, any sicknesses voodoo,Trouble in marriage,HIV AIDS,it's all he does Hope this helps everyone that is in a desperate situation as I once was; I know how it feels to hold onto something and never have a chance to move on because of the false promises and then to feel trapped in wanting something
